SEA TURTLE FIELD TRIPS

Since 2013, we have been organizing and channelizing resources for regular visits of local schools to our Sea Turtle Protection and Conservation Center (STPCC). In 2022 we began to offer pre-visit talks in elementary schools which helps to reinforce the learning and has increased participation of children. Each visit to the STPCC consists of a multidisciplinary approach to educating about the sea turtles of Jalisco, including a puppet theater, a presentation by biologist and camp director Alejandro Peña, singing Tortugas Marinas song, and the release of newly hatched turtles. This becomes an unforgettable experience that highlights the importance of living sustainably.

We strictly adhere to Mexican regulations regarding hatchling release procedure, which prohibit touching baby sea turtles and limit participation per event.

Join us and help out between October and December for an educational field trip to the sea turtle center or an in-school talk.
