Our Work

Education

Since 2015, our Children’s English Program has provided over 2,700 elementary school students from first to sixth grade with the opportunity to develop essential early language skills before middle school.

Environment

Careyes is surrounded by a network of protected areas that feature high biodiversity and endemism. Since 1983, Careyes has protected endangered sea turtles at the federally declared Teopa Beach Sanctuary. However, no conservation initiative can be successful without involving the local community, which is why environmental education has always been a core part of our mission. Today the Careyes Foundation goes beyond education to support community-led environmental action.

Art

The Careyes Foundation provides creative spaces for children in communities along Jalisco’s South Pacific Coast, including contemporary art workshops and music lessons

Community Development

Our community pillar is centered on establishing a community project hatchery, where initiatives are led by local community leaders to address and resolve various social issues. Through this approach, the Foundation seeks to empower communities to develop effective and sustainable solutions to their needs.
